Kill Krill Kill!

16x20
ink and digital

So, a few weeks ago, I mentioned on a couple of social media sites that I had had a weird, yet entertaining dream about watching a horror movie where a village was attacked by plankton. It was a slow moving movie, but horrifying as you might imagine. Being more of a cartoonist than a movie maker, I finally did up a toon depicting a gruesome scene with an unsuspecting victim.

Manos: The Hands Of Fate Sketch Cards

As promised, here are the bulk of the sketch cards done for the Manos: Hands Of Fate card set released by RR Parks Cards. EBay sucks these days, so if anyone is interested in the Artist Proofs, you can contact me directly. I'll be starting an Etsy page, as well, so that will be another option. But, buying directly from me will eliminate any obnoxious fees.

If you haven't seen the 1966 film, I encourage you to do so. It's baaaad.

Hollywood Is Dead Artist Proof Sketch Cards

I am currently going through the stack of blank Artist Proof cards that I've accumulated over the years and never completed, for one reason or another. So, the next in line are the 14 AP cards that I received for doing the 2010 set released through Rocket Ink Studios. For those who remember, this set was done in conjunction with Matt Busch's Hollywood Is Dead art book. Matt recreated a slew of classic and modern movie posters done in the style of the original artist, but as undead characters. The cards were done in each artists style, though and much fun was had.

I included recent movies and series, as well as classic ones. All cards have my very own AP sticker on the back to separate these from pack pulled cards. The links are below:

Mr. Quinlan

A sketch that I did a few months back of Mr. Quinlan, from the series The Strain. One of my favorite characters from the show and hope to see more of him in the next season.

The Wicker Man Sketch Cards

The Wicker Man set will be released at the end of this month by Unstoppable Cards. Above are the cards that I did to contribute to this set. A very fun set to work on. Keep in mind that these cards are based on the 70's movie starring Edward Woodward and Christopher Lee, not the crappy Nicolas Cage remake.

I only have three remaining Artist Proof cards available, so if there's any interest, let me know.

Friday Ink: Professor Karl Meister

Professor Karl meister
9x12
ink on bristol board
$30

For today's Friday Ink I am keeping with the October theme and have Christopher Lee as Professor Karl Meister from the Hammer Films, The Gorgon. The Gorgon is a bit cheesy, but I really like this flick. They went all out on the settings and the lighting is just what I like in a 60's Hammer Films. Plus, besides Lee, the film also has Peter Cushing and a Medusa. What's not to like?

Friday Ink: the Creature From The Black Lagoon

The Creature
9x12
ink on bristol board
$30

I began watching The Creature From The Black Lagoon last night and so, of course, it is fitting that I do said creature for today's Friday Ink. It's hard to believe that it has been about a month since I last did one of these, so I need to get back into the swing of things.
