Belle Isle Aquarium Coming Soon!

Recently, the Belle Isle Aquarium in Detroit asked me to come up with a sign to let visitors know that a variety of tanks in the alcove that are under construction will soon have new residents. This was a challenge with a broken wrist, but I was determined, so I laid the composition out with my left hand and as each day went by I was able to do more and more with my right hand and it became easier, as well. A fun side project, for sure.

Red Octopi Sketches

The month of April has been a very trying month computer-wise. On the 2nd, my desktop took a dump on me. All the Apple stores are closed because of the pandemic, but I was able to find a local repair place that did porch pick-ups and he had good reviews, so I went with him. Plus, the only game in town... He was able to save all my data, but the computer was damaged during a brownout. Now I know! Then, my laptop had problems, not as bad, but everything had to be reset. So, For most of the month, I had no scanner and no Photoshop (thanks, Darin!). Hence, the absence of posts.

So, without further ado, here are a couple of red octopus sketches. It's part of a project that I've cooked up, so more to come in the future.

Inktober Day 21: Drain

Today's Inktober word prompt is 'Drain.' I was going to go with some unfortunate soul being drained of his life fluids while those said fluids were going down the drain, kind of a double whammy, but went with the tentacle instead. Who doesn't like tentacles? Tentacles, I said tentacles.

Octopus Eye Sketch

This here is a sketch of the eye of an octopus, one of my many spirit animals. These eyes sketches, if you have been paying attention, will be part of a larger piece that I have been tinkering with. Stay tuned.

The Deep Sketch Cards, Part One

These are a few of the sketch cards that I did for The Deep set by Viceroy Cards. I'll post the rest later in the week. As with the Insectae set, this one was a lot of fun and I think for my Artist Proof cards I may explore some prehistoric sea life. Unless, of course, someone might want to commission something else…

Debaucheri Magazine Cartoon

Here is a cartoon that I did for the folks at Debaucheri Magazine and will be published in their next issue (March, I think). I have a cartoon in the current issue that was shown awhile back. You know the one. The sex doll one? Well anyways, the theme for this one is aphrodisiacs.
