Robots, Aliens, Heroes, and Villains...

And a lizard, too.

My latest Substack is up and is all about some watercolor pop culture images that I did some time ago and forgot about. You can click HERE to check them out.

DC Bombshells Series III Artist Proof Sketch Cards

So, in continuing with getting these blank Artist Proof cards from previous sets done that have been sitting around for what seems to be forever, the next in line are these two from Cryptozoic's DC Bombshells set from 2019. I did a bunch of cards for the set, but was unfamiliar with the line/brand and assumed that they wanted pin-up style versions of their characters, not knowing that there was a 40's style line-up of the characters. They were nice enough about it and tried to get them pushed through anyways, but DC wasn't going for it. They still let me keep my AP's, though and here they are. Listings are below:

Inktober 2021, Day 5: Raven

I thought about doing the bird, but that was too obvious. Then, I though about doing Raven Simone, but settled on the superhero.

Superheroes For Babies Sketch cards

Last year I was asked by 5finity to do some sketch cards for The March Of Dimes to raise some money for their charity, Superheroes For Babies. Now they are available to bid on. The links for each card are below.

So, if you are in a charitable mood, please feel free to bid away. Someone somewhere will appreciate it, I'm sure.

Convention Commission

A drawing I did at this past weekend's Cherry Capital Con in Traverse City, MI. The theme of the sketchbook was The DC Universe, the day after an apocalyptic event. So, I chose to do the character Firestorm, who apparently lost his battle. This was fun to do and the pages done by other artists were all very cool and imaginative.

WW Nashville Commissions

Above are some of the commissions and sketches that I did while manning my table in Nashville. The middle two were sketches that I did in books that were purchased. Much fun was had the Wizard World Nashville con. A good show that I hope to do again!

Doomsday

 Doomsday
11x14
ink on bristol board

Recently, I was able to participate in an artist only book about the Superman nemesis Doomsday. The book, put together by collector Michael C. Phifer is a beautifully done book, complete with slip cover and vellum between each image. When I say artist only, I mean that only Michael and the participating artists received books. This is not a book that one can pick up at a local store or on-line (unless the artists themselves decide to sell their copy, that is). It's too bad, too, because this is one nice looking book with such names as Neal Adams, Bill Sienkiewicz, Pat Broderick, Dave Dorman, Joe Jusko, Tim Vigil and myself!

The above image is my contribution and if you want to see more from the book, you can go to Michael's deviantart page to see them. A big thanks is due to Michael for allowing me to be a part of this book!

Batman: The Legend Sketch Cards

Here are roughly half of the sketch cards that I did for Cryptozoic Entertainment's very soon to be released trading card set. I had a lot of fun with this set and I hope that it shows. More to follow!

DC New 52 Sketch Cards

Above are some of the 79 cards that I did for the DC Comics New 52 set that was just recently released by Cryptozoic Entertainment. This was my first time working with the DC licenses and for Cryptozoic, so this was a fun and rewarding experience. Firestorm is a hoot and a half to draw.
