Triptych History: Mary Anning

                                                                             11x17

                                                                       Ink on bristol

Here is my fifth drawing in the Triptych History series that I was developing under the mentorship program with Giuseppe Castellano through The Illustration Dept. I am now working on more for a book proposal to be sent out to publishers. I have some interesting moments in history that I can't wait to share.

This piece is about the 19th century paleontologist Mary Anning. The movie Ammonite was good, but wildly inaccurate. Her life was interesting enough on its own. It didn't need the added assumptions.

Mike and His Pumpkin

Let's keep this ball rolling! Here is my recently rejected Halloween piece for the same group as the Aliens image.

Xenomorph Prey

So... here is my rejected piece for the Aliens art book that I submitted to earlier this year. I was happy with this piece, so that's why I'm showing it. So there. Ands this was even art directed and it still didn't make the cut. Of course, it could be any number of reasons for that so I'm not too beat up over it.

Triptych History: Yuri Kondratyuk

ink on bristol

For my fourth drawing in the Triptych History series that I worked on during a mentorship program with Giuseppe Castellano through The Illustration Dept. I chose the interesting connection between the Soviet engineer Yuri Kondratyuk and Neil Armstrong. Click on the image to enlarge so that you can read the brief synopsis.

Henry S. Foote Sketch

Henry S. Foote, the only questionable character who ever pulled a gun during a dispute on the Senate floor. I kind of like the way this one came out. This is part of my Triptych History project that will have all the pertinent details when it is completed. Just a teaser, for now.
