This weekend, I will be making my almost yearly trek north to the Traverse City area (Acme) for the Cherry Capital Comic Con. I will have all the usual stuff, including some new items, as well. Such as some Creature From the Black Lagoon jigsaw puzzles, some new drawings, including the above sleestak. It's a parody of a Sports Illustrated cover from 1990, I think, but instead of Bill Laimbeer complaining about fouls, he is instead, a sleestak, in which he played one in the 1970's television series, Land of the Lost. This will be available in my 'original drawings' tray. 

So, come one, come all to one of Michigan's finer comic conventions. They have a rather good line-up this year, so stop on by and get your nerd on! I'll be in Artists Alley all weekend, starting Friday night.

I wasn't going to post this drawing that I did prior to heading up to Traverse City (Acme Twp) for the Cherry Capital Comic Con because I wasn't too sure how I felt about it. Meaning, that I wasn't too sure if it looked like him. Once there, I showed it to a few people and they saw a likeness, so I put it out to sell. 

Well, to make a long story short, I showed it to a friend/colleague who sets up alongside McCarty at shows and he liked it and showed it to DM. After a short exchange, he now possesses the drawing. 

He sincerely seemed happy with the drawing, so I was happy to give it to him. I just love making millionaires happy! It was a good moment, though, with some fun chit chat between us. 

Cherry Capital Comic Con 2024

 

This weekend I will be set up in Artist's Alley at the Cherry Capital Comic Con at the Grand Traverse Resort in Acme, MI (Traverse City). So far this is my only appearance for the year and I will have all the usual stuff; books (including the latest), AP sketch cards, original art, stickers, prints, as well as doing commissions.

So, if you are in the area of northern Michigan and into this kind of stuff, make sure to stop on by. I will be there all three days (Fri-Sun). They will be having some interesting media guests as well as some of the Midwests finest creators. Go here for all the details.

Cherry Capital Comic Con 2023

 

If you happen to find yourself in Traverse City, MI this weekend, you may want to find your way over to the Grand Traverse Resort for the annual Cherry Capital Comic Con. It is truly the best of cons with great organizers and staff and there will be a whole slew of creative talent and media guests on hand. It should be a great time!

I will be there in Artist Alley at booth #1004. I will have all the usual stuff, such as prints, AP sketch cards, original art, books, comics and I will be doing commissions. Stop on by and say hello.

Once again, I will be up in Traverse City this weekend for the Cherry Capital Comic Con held at the Grand Traverse Resort. As I've said many times before, this is a unique con that has a great staff and will be full with wonderful creators. Always a good time. So, if you are in the area and like such events, come on out and stop by. I'll be in Artists Alley.

Final Inktober Dump

 

As I was up in Traverse City this weekend for the Cherry Capital Comic Con, which went very well, I fulfilled my Inktober pledge and finished the remaining three. And I was quite busy at my table, too!

So, we have 'Patch' for Friday, 'Slither' for Saturday and finally, 'Risk' for Sunday. 

And that concludes my participation in this year's Inktober. It was entertaining. 

Cherry Capital Comic Con 2021

 

This Halloween weekend you can find me up in Traverse City (Acme), MI for the Cherry Capital Comic Con. It's been a year and eight months since I last did a show and safety protocols are in place, masks must be worn, so hopefully all will behave and it will go well. I look forward to seeing all of the people that I haven't seen in awhile and all the new ones, too!

I'll have books, original art and will be doing commissions, as well. So, if you are in the area and interested in such things stop on by booth #808 and say hello.

Cherry Capital Comic Con

This Memorial Day weekend, I will be at the Cherry Capital Comic Con just on the outskirts of Traverse City at the Grand Traverse Resort. Come on out and see a lot of cool creators and media guests. This is always a fun show!

I will have copies of my latest collection of cartoons, The Feral Cartoonist.

Also, I will have copies of my latest comic book, Second Star. It's a long time in the making, but I'm well into issue #2 and having a blast. 

Cherry Capital Comic Con Sketches

In between raking in copious amounts of cash and fending off fans with a pencil at this past weekend's Cherry Capital Comic Con, I did some sketches of con goers, staff, fellow artists, etc. 

Cherry Capital Comic Con

This Friday through Sunday I will be up in Traverse City for the 10th annual Cherry Capital Comic Con, probably one of the best run conventions that there is. So, if you are in the area, stop on by. I'll be at Booth #710 in Artists Alley, right between the two good artists. There will be a whole slew of very good Michigan creators, as well as legend comic book artists Jim Steranko and Mike Grell, as well as actors Brian O'Halloran and Billy West. Should be an interesting weekend.

Friday Ink: The Henchmen

I haven't done one of these Friday ink drawings in awhile, so here is a new one. The ever lovable henchmen of The Monarch, No's 21 & 24, I believe. I will have this with me as a new addition to the original art that I will have with me next week at the Cherry Capital Comic Con in Traverse City, MI.

Convention Commission

A drawing I did at this past weekend's Cherry Capital Con in Traverse City, MI. The theme of the sketchbook was The DC Universe, the day after an apocalyptic event. So, I chose to do the character Firestorm, who apparently lost his battle. This was fun to do and the pages done by other artists were all very cool and imaginative.

Cherry Capital Comic Con 2015

This weekend will find me in Traverse City, Mi for the annual Cherry Capital Comic Con, or simply known as C4. This is one of my favorite shows to do, with a great staff and volunteers. They do a good show! No media guests, just a bunch of cool comic creators, so if you are in the area stop on by. A lot of Michigan talent will be on hand.

I'll have copies of the two new Stoopid Stuf volumes, the Unlawful Good anthology and all the usual crap.
