Friday Ink: The Bride Of Frankenstein and Cherry Capital Con

The Bride Of Frankenstein
9x12
ink on bristol board
$30

Today's image for Friday Ink is none other than the Electric Bride herself. There was a guy looking for art of her at last weekend's Motor City Comic Con and I have started a painting, too, so I thought I'd do up an ink drawing for this week and offer it for sale at the Cherry Capital Con. And speaking of...

Starting tonight, I will be at the mentioned Cherry Capital Con up in Traverse City, MI. I will be at booth # 502, so if you are in the area stop on by and say hello. I will have original art, books, sketch cards, prints and will be taking sketch commissions.

Transformer Sketch Cards

After finally receiving approval from Michael Bay and Hasbro, I can show my Transformer cards for the set that has been recently released through Breygent. I had a particularly good time doing the Sentinel Prime cards. I do have five blank Artist Proof cards if anyone wants to commission me.

Doomsday

 Doomsday
11x14
ink on bristol board

Recently, I was able to participate in an artist only book about the Superman nemesis Doomsday. The book, put together by collector Michael C. Phifer is a beautifully done book, complete with slip cover and vellum between each image. When I say artist only, I mean that only Michael and the participating artists received books. This is not a book that one can pick up at a local store or on-line (unless the artists themselves decide to sell their copy, that is). It's too bad, too, because this is one nice looking book with such names as Neal Adams, Bill Sienkiewicz, Pat Broderick, Dave Dorman, Joe Jusko, Tim Vigil and myself!

The above image is my contribution and if you want to see more from the book, you can go to Michael's deviantart page to see them. A big thanks is due to Michael for allowing me to be a part of this book!

Friday Ink: A Ming Henchman

Ming's Henchman
9x12
ink on bristol board
$30

As I was watching Flash Gordon last night and saw the gold skull lackeys of Ming, I thought that that would make a good drawing for today's Friday Ink. So, here it is.

I will have all of these ink drawings available at next weekend's Motor City Comic Con.

Although, the show actually started last week, tomorrow is the opening for the gallery show entitle In A Gallery Far Far Away. The show is sci-fi/fantasy/pop culture based and features some of Detroit's best illustrators and fine artists, including Alex Buechel, Matt Busch, Anne Garavaggio, Jeremy Hansen, Bill Morrison, Kelly Nemzek, Bill Pulkovski, Jay Shimko and myself. The speed painter Dave Santia will be doing his thing at about seven in front of the gallery. All proceeds from his auctioned paintings will go towards Benefits For Backpacks (I think).

Here are the details:

The Star Wars costuming group, the 501st will also be on hand to make the evening even more festive. So, come on down river tomorrow evening, view some cool artwork, socialize with the animals, I mean the artists, and maybe hit one of the local eateries for dinner or a late snack. See ya there!
