Michael Madsen

Michael Madsen has left us. I always enjoyed his roles. He had a way that no other actor (at least, for me) had in making one think that, yeah, that's an asshole right there, but maybe, just maybe, there is something good in there, something relatable and likable. I always thought that his characters were struggling with decency, but just couldn't pull out of the quagmire. Well, maybe not Mr. Blonde. He embraced the cruelty.

Above is a drawing that I did of Madsen as Mr. Blonde back in 2013. I was experimenting with blank eyes during this time. This one sold a few years ago and the woman who bought loved the pose. Whew.

Boxing Girl Commission

Here is a recent commission that I did where the client wanted a take on a Gil Elvgren painting, a take on a drawing that I did previously of Michael Madsen in Reservoir Dogs and a few design elements of his own. I've shown the inks before and after adding the color.

Friday Ink: Mr. Blonde

Mr. Blonde

ink on bristol board
$30

So, you wanna have a soda with Mr. Blonde, do ya? Well, you can at next month's Motor City Comic Con. Michael Madsen, the actor who portrayed The Reservoir Dogs character, as well as Budd from the Kill Bill movies will be in attendance in the media guest area.  Pick up this original drawing for him to sign. If you like your ears intact, just leave the duct tape at home.
