International Wombat Day

Vitruvian Wombat
5x8
ink and digital colors

Today is/was International Wombat Day. I do like me a wombat.

There is a wombat refuge/rehab place in Australia that is building a retirement home of sorts for their older wombats and there are a lot of them. Since I don't do any donations anymore to the occasional politician, I decided my money would be put to a better use than making millionaires into billionaires in making wombat habitats a thing. If you'd like to donate, as well, you can click here.

Why a Vitruvian Wombat, you might ask? Hell, I don't know. I had this idea some time ago and thought that I would give it a go for their special day. I guess that I think it's funny that this little guy doesn't measure up to the Vitruvian standards, but is still feisty as heck. Don't tell him that he doesn't measure up!

Today's Inktober word prompt is Confusion. I was going to have Grandpa Simpson here yelling at clouds, but I guess he's confused enough as it is.

All Star: The Art Of Sports Gallery Show, Part Two

This past Friday was the opening reception for Tony Miello's All Star: The Art Of Sports show at the River's Edge Gallery in Wyandotte, MI. Tony invited a few of us arteest types to show, as well. Those include Jeremy Hansen, John Marroquin, Bill Morrison, Bill Pulkovski, Jeff Sornig, and myself.

Here are the three pieces that I have in the show:

Lord Stanley 5x7 scratchboard

Flow I, mixed media

Flow II, mixed media

The show runs through the end of November, so get on down there and check it. Unless, you are coming from Ohio, then you'd be coming up. All pieces are for sale.

Inktober 2026 Day 18: Flightless

Today's Inktober word prompt is Flightless. You don't get a more apt description of flightless than a penguin. Well, maybe a skeletal penguin could be even more flightless.

All Star: The Art Of Sports Gallery Show

Flyer by Tony Miello

This Friday is the opening for the All Star: The Art of Sports exhibit at the River's Edge Gallery in Wyandotte, MI. Tony Miello will have the bulk of the works on display, but there will also be works on hand by John Marroquin, Bill Morrison, Jeff Sornig and myself. I will have three pieces, all hockey related. A scratchboard and two sculptures. I will post about those on Friday, before the show starts. The show will run from October 16 to November 21 and starts at 6pm.

Hope to see you there!

I've had computer problems since Monday afternoon, so I haven't been able to post much and I missed Day 6 of the Inktober challenge. That seems to be solved for now. So, the word prompt for that day was Ogre. And now you have it.

Star Wars Chrome Sketch Cards

Here are the sketch cards that I did for the recently released Star Wars Chrome set via Topps. This time I focused on The Rise of Skywalker, The Book of Boba Fett, Tales of the Jedi, Ashoka Season 1, Obi Wan Kenobi Season 1, and Maul: Shadow Lord Season 1.

Inktober 2026 Day 1: Apple

So, another Inktober is upon us. As with the last few years, maybe longer, I haven't done one everyday. Believe it, or not, I'm kind busy and let's face it, the word prompts haven't exactly been inspiring. That's part of the challenge, I guess. Anyways, I'll be hit or miss with these this year, I'm sure.

Today's word prompt is Apple. Since it is October, I try to make these spooky to go with the season.
