San Diego Comic Con, Day Two

The masses hording to Comic Con from the Gaslamp District.

After a day of hitting up publishers, we sat behind the hotel and people watched, drank, ate, had a massage, you know, the usual.

Behind Jake is actor Sean Maher who is known for his role of Simon from Firefly/Serenity. He held court with his people almost the entire time we were there.

Day Two and our final full day in San Diego was spent hitting up a select few publishers that we missed the day before. The Minor brothers had a meeting of their own, so I had headed out to see what I could come up with. I had some interest in my work, which is always good to see, but nothing as solid as what I had the previous day. Still, a good morning. Soon, I met up with the brothers in the portfolio review section where they had some good showings of their stuff. Then, back to Artists Alley to talk with some friends and to make some purchases.

Our day at the con was finished and we decided to relax some behind the hotel. We had lunch, some drinks and people watched. Quite a few celebrities wandered by, including Sean Maher (see above), Brian Posehn (sp) and the guys from the show Face Off. When Kevin was off swimming and Jake napping, Matt and I chatted and then had a massage. It looked too enticing to pass up and with that shoulder bag digging in for two days it's just what I needed.

Later on in the evening, we met another of Matt's college buddies at the Trickster event and went on over to the Cryptozoic store to meet one of our art directors. The next morning we were at the airport for an early flight back home.

All in all a quick, but good trip. Time will soon tell if any of us will strike gold with this publisher or that. I'll be sire to let you know when that happens.
