As some of you may know, I have a bunch of blank Artist Proof sketch cards that I have from doing various sets throughout the years. So, from time to time, I'm going through and finishing them. Neanderthal Skulls Artist Proof Sketch Cards

 

I have a ton of Artist Proof blanks laying about and I'm trying to plow through them to get them out there. Occasionally, I an contacted to see what I have, but I'm a bit impatient at times, so, here are a couple from the Dinosaurs and other prehistoric entities set released in 2015 by Upper Deck. I like how they put the names on the cards to take the guess work on just what to do. I have many specific dinosaur blanks, if anyone is interested in those.

I went with fossils of the skulls and may do the same with the other cards that feature dinosaurs. And, I took a little different approach with these two. I used colored inks and watercolor. If interested, the eBay links are below:

Ultraman, Series 3 Artist Proof Sketch Cards

Ultraman, Series 3 Sketch Cards

 RR Parks Cards has launched their Kickstarter today for the Ultraman, Series 3 card set. You can get all the details here.  Below are some of the cards that I did for this set. 

Surprisingly, I went more Ultraman and supporting cast than Kaijus. I fixed that on Series 4.

I took a weird route with the large 'U' on the bottom half of the cards. I was trying something new... As always, I will post my Artist Proofs soon, so stay tuned. 

And, as always, drawing Ultraman is super fun. 

Recent Sketch Card Commissions

 

These two sketch cards were commissioned along with the sci-fi drawing posted last month for a gentleman across the pond. As I've said before, I always enjoy doing commissions for this client, as he always knows what he wants and they are always fun to do. 

The first card was based on one of the original Mars Attacks cards from the set by Topps in the 1950's. For this one, he wanted the figures to be reversed with the Martian being the victim to the Polka Dot Girl (the client's own creation). The second card was based on the intro to the Man from U.N.C.L.E. series from the 60's, but with the Polka Dot Girl in place of Robert Vaughn. A couple of fun cards.

Manos: The Hands Of Fate Sketch Cards

 

As promised, here are the bulk of the sketch cards done for the Manos: Hands Of Fate card set released by RR Parks Cards. EBay sucks these days, so if anyone is interested in the Artist Proofs, you can contact me directly. I'll be starting an Etsy page, as well, so that will be another option. But, buying directly from me will eliminate any obnoxious fees. 

If you haven't seen the 1966 film, I encourage you to do so. It's baaaad. 

Manos: The Hands Of Fate Artist Proof Sketch Cards

 

So... it's been a couple of years since I'd done these Manos: The Hands of Fate sketch cards for RR Parks. I didn't even know that the set was released and quite frankly, forgot about it. There are a few sets that I'm still waiting to be released so that I can show those cards. Anyways, here are the Artist Proof cards for that set. If you haven't seen the 1966 movie... It's bad. And not in a Plan 9 from Outer Space bad. But, you can laugh at it via the Mystery Science Theater 3000 showing and can mock it in that way. 

It was a fun set to draw, though and I will show the rest of the cards that I did for this set soon. Probably this week.

Ultraman Series Two Artist proof Sketch Cards

 

Ok, here we go... These are my Artist Proof sketch cards from the Ultraman, Series Two set released by RR Parks Cards last year. These sets are always a lot of fun to do and will be commencing work on Series 4 very soon. There will be a Kickstarter for Series 3, so stay tuned for that.

Ultraman, Series II Sketch Cards

 

I've been seeing cards from this set up on eBay and I do believe the Kickstarter has happened, so I think that it is safe to show my work done for this set. I worked on these cards about a year and a half ago, so this is another one of those sets that's finally seeing the light of day. It's always fun to work on these Ultraman cards released by RR parks Cards. Oddly enough, I'm currently reading Turning Point 1998-2008 by Hayao Miyazaki and a few times he has stated his dismay over the Ultraman generation. What?!! I do fall into that category, and I get his point to a degree. However, Ultraman is super fun, even after all these years and very fun to draw, so we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. A Few Recent Sketch Card Commissions

 

Here are a few Empire Strikes Back themed sketch card commissions that I did recently. These were done of the client's custom made stock and are done in the wide vision format. As always, these were fun to do.

I have done some sketch card sets that have been sitting around for a few years because they haven't been released yet. This set, that I did in 2020, is one of them, but today the set has finally been released and I can show them.  UD Cosmic by Upper Deck is distributing these in a different way, with something called an e-Pack. I'm not sure how it all works, but I'm sure that the collectors do. I will post my artist proof cards soon. 

DC Bombshells Series III Artist Proof Sketch Cards

 

So, in continuing with getting these blank Artist Proof cards from previous sets done that have been sitting around for what seems to be forever, the next in line are these two from Cryptozoic's DC Bombshells set from 2019. I did a bunch of cards for the set, but was unfamiliar with the line/brand and assumed that they wanted pin-up style versions of their characters, not knowing that there was a 40's style line-up of the characters. They were nice enough about it and tried to get them pushed through anyways, but DC wasn't going for it. They still let me keep my AP's, though and here they are. Listings are below:

Hollywood Is Dead Artist Proof Sketch Cards

I am currently going through the stack of blank Artist Proof cards that I've accumulated over the years and never completed, for one reason or another. So, the next in line are the 14 AP cards that I received for doing the 2010 set released through Rocket Ink Studios. For those who remember, this set was done in conjunction with Matt Busch's Hollywood Is Dead art book. Matt recreated a slew of classic and modern movie posters done in the style of the original artist, but as undead characters. The cards were done in each artists style, though and much fun was had.

I included recent movies and series, as well as classic ones. All cards have my very own AP sticker on the back to separate these from pack pulled cards. The links are below:
