MSU Comics Forum 2014

Tomorrow I will be set up at the MSU Comics Forum in Lansing, MI. This is an unique show in that there are no media guests, just comic artists, that has panels, discussions, etc. This year's guest speaker is the creator of Usagi Yojimbo, Stan Sakai. He will be speaking tonight at Snyder Hall. You can get all the vital info at the MSU Comics Forum website. This is the first show of the year for me and I'm looking forward to it!

Stan Sakai Charity Project

Comic creator Stan Sakai has been going through some tough time as of late. His wife Sharon has medical needs and he recently lost a grandson, so paying medical bills should be the last thing on his mind right now. Many artists have donated a piece of artwork to auction off in hopes of raising money to help out the Sakai family. This here is my contribution. I chose to portray Stan's character, Usagi Yojimbo as a samurai. I think the red mask kind of pulled me in on this one.

If you are an artist who would like to help out, or if you just want to make a donation go here. To check out Stan Sakai's work, go here. Stan will also be at the MSU Comics Forum this weekend in Lansing, MI

I sure hope that my drawing can help out some.

MSU Comics Forum 2013

Official event poster created by keynote speaker Nick Bertozzi

Lost In Spaces Cover

Friday evening will find me in Ypsilanti  for the Comics, Cartoons and Caricature show and the following day I will be in Lansing for the 2013 MSU Comics Forum. This will be my third year at this unique show focusing on the art of comics and will feature such artists as Jay Jacot, Ryan Claytor, Bill Pulkovski, Tony Miello, Jay Fosgitt, Chad Sell, Joe Foo, Jeff Manley, among many other wonderful talents.

I will be unveiling my 2013 artist's sketchbook (finally!) at this show, so if you collect such things, this will be a chance to pick one up. Everything in the book are directly from my sketchbooks, raw and unpolished. as they are. Most people do not get to see the scribbles from the sketchbooks, so I was happy to go that route.

So, if you are in the Lansing area on Saturday, stop by and say hi, or eh, or whatever.

Sketch Covers

Here's a couple of sketch covers that I did last week while at the MSU Comics Forum, featuring The Hulk and The Punisher. If anyone is interested in these (I have other titles, as well), shoot me an e-mail.
