Star Trek/Planet Of The Apes Sketch Cover

Here's a very recent sketch cover commission on a very interesting, if odd mix of franchises. But, I had free rein to do what I wanted, so after fooling around with some sketches, experimenting with different crossovers, I thought it might be interesting to combine the characters themselves, so we have here Dr. Bones and Dr, Zaius as one, complete with crashed Enterprise in the background ala Planet of the Apes. Definitely a fun commission.

This here is the other sketch cover that was commissioned by the same client as the C-3P0 one and it is none other than your favorite lump of lard, Jabba the Hutt.

I did these two sketch covers last May up in Traverse City at the Cherry Capital Con during some downtime. I tried to experiment with my line work some, especially with the Juggernaut.

More Sketch Covers

I haven't done too many of these sketch cover thingies, but after attending Wizard World Chicago back in August I can certainly see the potential for them. I'm sure it depends on the show, but for that one I did alright with the covers. So, while I was there I drew up a couple more to replace the ones that I sold and were commissioned to do. I will have these on hand at this month's Detroit Fanfare if anyone is interested in them!
