The Hellboy Thinker
12x18
colored pencil on tinted paper
I've been tinkering around with Detroit themed pop culture ideas for next month's Detroit Fanfare convention and this was an idea for another painting, but I kind of like it as a drawing. It would definitely have a very different feel to it done in acrylics. I may still do it, but I have a few other Fanfare related projects that have to be done first and I don't think I can talk about it just yet, so I won't.

The Hellboy Fist
The Hellboy Fist or The Detroit Hellboy Memorial
15x20
acrylic on illustration board
My wife came up with this idea of taking the Joe Louis Memorial sculpture by Robert Graham that is located in downtown Detroit and replacing the JL fist with that of Hellboy's fist. Awesome idea and one that garnered a lot of attention at last week's Motor City Comic Con where I had the original painting on display. My wife has her moments and this was definitely one of them. I'm still kicking myself for not coming up with it!

March Of Dimes Sketch Cards
These five sketch cards were done for a March Of Dimes charity event that should be taking place sometime after April 30th. You can go here to check out the latest information and to see just what artists are taking a part in this. There are some big names from the comic book and sketch card worlds and I am thrilled to have my name amongst them. This was fun to do and I hope that this helps in some small way.
