Great Lakes Comic Con Wrap Up

 

This past weekend was the Great Lakes Comic Con and this one was truly one of the best cons that I have had in some time. Catching up with my fellow artists, (some with whom I haven't seen in a while), all the people who came by to talk and great sales, to boot. One of my table mates, Jason Westlake had to put up with me all weekend, but I think we had a good time. At least I did! 

It was also a bittersweet weekend, in that show promoter Mike DeSantis passed away just a few short weeks ago. I talked with quite a few people who knew Mike (including his wife) better than I did and enjoyed the stories about him. He seemed like a heck of a nice guy who was passionate about comics and comic cons. I hope that this weekend was a huge success in all ways possible for the DeSantis family.

Ghostbusters Artbook

The new Ghostbusters art book from Printed In Blood and Insight Editions is now on sale, so I can finally show the piece that I did for it. There are some amazing talents in this book and from what I've been hearing (I have yet to see it), there's some great artwork in there. You can order the book from Amazon or other booksellers, I'm sure.

Tonight there will be a Ghostbusters themed art show at the Phoenix Cafe in Hazel Park, MI. Although, I do have a piece in the show (seen above), I will not be in attendance because of my leg injury. But, if you like all things Ghostbusters, check out the show. There is a cover, I'm assuming because there will be a couple of bands playing. This might be a one night thing, not sure if the artwork will be up after tonight, but it starts at 7pm and all artwork is for sale.

It's been about a year since I did these cards and I can now start to promote them, although the set probably won't be out until the summer. They want to have a release that coincides with the new Ghostbuster movie, I think. Anyways, here are a few of the cards. This set is by Cryptozoic Entertainment.
