Fantasticon Mt. Pleasant

This Saturday and Sunday I will be in Mt. Pleasant, MI at the Soaring Eagle Casino for their Fantasticon show. If you are in the area and/or at the casino and want to spend more money, stop on by. There will be quite a few Michigan artists on hand, such as The Minor Brothers, Jay Jacot, Michael Peters and Bryan Mazeny among others.I've heard that they have sold over a thousand tickets, so that's good to hear!

*Edit: The Minor Brothers have canceled their appearance at this show.

Wizard World Cleveland

This weekend (Fri-Sun) you can find me in Ohio for the Cleveland Comic Con. I hear it's a good show and this will be my first appearance there, so come on by Artists Alley and say hello. I will have books, prints, sketch cards, original art and I'll be doing commissions, as well.

Michigan will be well represented with fellow artists The Minor Brothers (Matt, Jake and Kevin), Bill Pulkovski, Dom Riggio just to name a few.

Deadworld Premium Zombie Soda

This past Friday was the launch of a new Deadworld product. Zombie Soda! You can have a variety of flavors featuring labels drawn by various illustrators, such as myself, Jake Minor, Matt Minor, Bill Pulkovski, Mark Bloodworth, Tony Miello, Ted Woods, John Marroquin, Anne Garavaglia, Vince Locke, among others. The above image that was done by me was colored by Demone Amerson. Kevin Minor and some others did more of the coloring.

Check out the Caprice Brand page for more details on the sodas and who drew what labels.

Yoda

I am participating in a fundraiser for a little boy named Matthew from northern Michigan who is receiving treatment for a brain tumor, which is being put together by the Cherry Capital Con's very own Rob Humphrey. Matthew is a huge Star Wars fan, so Rob contacted a bunch of us arty types to draw up something Star Wars related that we could give to him to uplift his spirits during his struggle. And from what I have heard, Lucasfilm and the 501st are involved with the assistance of creating a book of the artwork that can be sold to raise further funds for Matthew and his family. I will definitely post further details as I receive them.

Some of the other artists on tap for this project seem to be mostly Michigan based and they include such talents as Jay Jacot, Guy Allen, Jeff Manley, Matthew Minor, among others.

Above is my contribution, an aggressive Yoda fighting the good fight. As usual, click on the image to engorge.

And keep Matthew in your thoughts while he fights the good fight.
