A Michigan To Texas Birthday Wish 2013

It's that time of year again to send a pic to my friend Sandra for her birthday. Each year she gets a pic from various friends around the world to help her celebrate. This year I chose a pic of our puppy Elroy. This was taken back in early October when we first adopted him. He looks cute here, but trust me, he's a terror, a real handful!

Happy Birthday, Sandra!

A Michigan To Texas Birthday Wish 2012

For a few years now my friend Sandra has been collecting photos from her internet friends for her birthday and my photo for her this year is one from my trip to Iowa last month. This is a painting by Marvin Cone, a painter that hailed from Cedar Rapids. The painting is called Three Doorways and was painted in 1951. Cone was a friend and colleague of regionalist painter Grant Wood.

Happy Birthday, Sandra! Hope you enjoy the pic and your day!

A Michigan To Texas Birthday Wish 2011

My internet pal Sandra likes to collect photos from her online friends for her birthday every year. So, for this year's photo, I selected this image of the Belle Isle Conservatory as seen from the roof of the aquarium. In the spring, the aquarium will be getting a much needed roof replacement, which will be one step closer to getting the place re-opened.

Sandra, I hope that you like this Detroit themed birthday photo!

A Michigan To Texas Birthday Wish

Today is the birthday of my internet pal, Sandra, and on this day she likes to collect photos from all her internet peeps across the globe. So, I thought that I would pass along a bit of Detroit for her enjoyment. This is the entrance to the historic Belle Isle Aquarium located on Belle Isle on the Detroit River. The aquarium was shut down a few years ago by the cultural deficient "leaders" of Detroit, but great efforts are being made to reopen the nation's oldest aquarium. It's a beautiful building.

Happy Birthday, Sandra!
