Tomorrow on Belle Isle in Detroit is the Shiver On The River event held annually and the aquarium will be open from 10-3. The electric eels have made there return and will make their debut in a temporary tank (I had a hand in sprucing this up) next to the one that will eventually house them when it is completed and looking more like an Amazon River habitat. So, come on down, brave the snow, check out the aquarium, the Casino, the Dossin Museum, the Conservatory and probably the Nature Zoo. They will all be open.

I did three ink drawings for the Portraits Of Poe book recently released by Rocket Ink Studios. The above drawing was done for the story The Cask Of Amontillado and features the unfortunate Fortunato. You can order your copy of all things Poe on their website.

We will bring them back and install them at the Belle Isle Aquarium. It is sad to hear of the National closing, but we are happy to at least carry on their history a bit. We will now have that connection. Here is more info: http://www.freep.com/article/20140110/NEWS01/301100062/belle-isle-aquarium-restoration
Oh, and a tip of the hat to Antonio Probias for inspiration in the episode's cartoon.

These are a few of the sketch cards that I did for The Deep set by Viceroy Cards. I'll post the rest later in the week. As with the Insectae set, this one was a lot of fun and I think for my Artist Proof cards I may explore some prehistoric sea life. Unless, of course, someone might want to commission something else…
